As for why Defender (and only Defender) keeps finding these Malware or PUP I don’t have an answer, I just hope that it’s some kind of bug Should I start to worry/nuke my whole system or could this be just a false positive? I can add pictures with the scan results if it can helpĮDIT: I have seen some comments that keep saying that I used a crack ora that the program was downloaded from some sketchy website, but it was not: I just downloaded it from the official vmware website and activated it using the 30 days free trial, I may not be as skilled as some other people in this subreddit but I can at least download the right file. Finally, when I’m trying to remove the suspicious files with Defender it keeps saying that it is not able to fully delete them. It is the only antivirus on my system that is flagging these files (I also tried a scan with Malwarebytes and MSERT and the results were negative).

Today, after a full system scan, Windows Defender keeps finding suspicious files and flagging them as Trojan (specifically Win32/Ymacco.AA32 Win32/Ymacco.AA0F and Win32/Uwasson.A!ml), all in some vmware-specific folder (like InstallerCache). Hello everyone, I downloaded yesterday the latest release of VMware workstation pro from the official VMware website (also did a virus scan on the installer and it was clean).
